Mass Shooting on Perry Street
Nine people were killed in a Friday evening shooting on the 700 block of Perry Street in Erie, Pennsylvania, according to local authorities. Police responded to the scene just before 5 p.m. after receiving initial reports of gunfire and finding two women shot outside a home. [1] [2]
Police Response and Suspect Death
The armed suspect barricaded himself inside a nearby house, prompting a standoff with a SWAT team before officers forced their way inside with a warrant. Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah stated that the suspected shooter died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public. [1] [2]

Inside the residence, officers discovered multiple additional bodies, which reports indicated included two small children and a pregnant woman.
