Another World Star Mark Mortimer Dies at 59 Following Cancer Battle

Mark Mortimer, best known for portraying Nick Hudson on the daytime drama Another World, has died at the age of 59. According to his obituary, he passed away on September 23, 2026, following a journey with cancer. [1]

Life and Career

Born in Saint Charles, Illinois, on April 15, 1967, Mortimer served in the U.S. Army and worked as a model before launching his acting career. He made his television debut on Another World, taking over the role of Nick Hudson—the surprise son of Michael Hudson—from 1996 until the series ended in 1999. Following his time on the soap opera, he appeared in a 1999 episode of Spin City and earned his final acting credit in the 2005 film The Nowhere Man. [1]

Business and Philanthropy

Outside of acting, Mortimer spent over two decades running a successful construction company called Inside Out Construction alongside his wife of 25 years, Christie, and a business partner. After receiving a cancer diagnosis in 2024, Mortimer and his wife established the Integrative Access Foundation to help cancer patients explore transparent education and support for integrative and unconventional care options. He is survived by his wife Christie, their daughter Hunter, his parents, and multiple siblings. [1]
