Squad Rotation and Future Planning
Manager Néstor Lorenzo is using the match to evaluate younger players and new tactical schemes following the departures of key veterans like James Rodríguez, Juan Fernando Quintero, and David Ospina, with an eye toward the 2028 Copa América and the 2030 World Cup. Goalkeeper Kevin Mier is slated to start in place of Aldair Quintana, who suffered a head blow against Paraguay, alongside expected minutes for players including Juan Manuel Rengifo, Daniel Arcila, Royer Caicedo, Óscar Perea, Kevin Andrade, Édier Ocampo, Camilo Durán, and Álvaro Angulo.
