1 Dead After Car Crashes Into Whittier Restaurant

One person was killed and at least one other person was injured after a driver crashed a car into a Whittier restaurant on Monday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. [1]

The incident was reported at approximately 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of East Slauson Avenue and Norwalk Boulevard at Michael's Superburgers. Authorities stated that a sedan crashed into the building structure, igniting flames and creating smoke and flying glass. Whittier police confirmed that the individual killed in the crash was a pedestrian. [1]

The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while a woman injured in the incident was heard screaming and later treated for a foot injury. Investigators have not yet determined what caused the driver to slam into the building, and the investigation remains ongoing. [1]
